Fast as a Bull
Lamborghini is an exotic car brand from Italy, and it has the fastest cars in the world and awesome designs. What makes these cars reach their incredible high speed and unbelievable acceleration is the way they make their cars. These cars have their perfect performance because of the parts they get in the factory, and that most of the work is hand made. Specifically what makes the Lamborghini cars so fast and incomparable to any other car brand is their aerodynamics and design, also their incredibly powerful engine, and its astonishing lightweight. These parts of the cars are the ones that determine these cars super performance and incredible speed.
Design is crucial for any car in any brand. Lamborghini took design and aerodynamics to another level. Their designs are incomparable to any other, since they have very exotic shapes for their cars, and it makes their cars look like they where from the feature. Also, with incredibly beautiful design comes great aerodynamics, which affects the car’s performance and speed, it makes the car stick to the ground. Also the aerodynamics makes the car completely air resistant, so the car won’t ever be possibly affected by the exterior wind in any way. The Lamborghini Aventador, has a amazing type of aerodynamics since it sharp lines and underbody parts aren’t just appealing to watch but each one of those things have a crucial role in the car´s aerodynamics. Aerodynamic elements are integrated into the body shell form, from the front spoiler to the rear diffuser. The back spoiler has many functions and innovations from past models; while the car is turned off the wing gets integrated to the car leaving no pop up structure seen. But while operating the car, the wing has two positions, the first position is the angle of 4 degrees is developed for high speed and ensuring directional stability at the very top end of the car. The tilt of 11 degrees, on the other hand, gives the car a greater down force at mid-range speeds, which for Lamborghini’s is a speed much more than above average, helping to optimize handling and stability[1]. The car uses a smart sensor to know to what tilt to put the wing depending on the wind and function. Aerodynamics isn’t the only determinant of such class, and speed in these beast cars, the engine is one of the other variables.
The Aventador accelerates from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 350 kph (217 mph)[2]. All of this is due to the incredible force the v-12 engine has. This incredibly powerful engine can shift as fast as in 50miliseconds, thanks to the new innovate v-12 engine. Shifting was a huge challenge for all sports cars aiming a super speed and quick reaction and acceleration, since shifting decelerates the car no matter how fast the racers can do it. So Lamborghini came up with this 12 cylinder transmission system that shifts faster than any other car in the world automatically, making the car´s reaction incomparable. Apart from having extreme force, this engine weights only 235kg, witch for a car this fast is very light. This engine has 700 horsepower making the v-12 engine one of the most powerful among sports cars.
The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento weighs only 999kg, making it the most lightweight car in all Lamborghini. This car has a v-10 engine and only 570 horsepower[3]. This car has a smaller engine and less horse power than the Lamborghini Aventador, but this car gets from 0-100kph in only 2.5 seconds, while the Lamborghini Aventador with a v-12 engine with 700horsepower gets from 0-100 in 2.9 seconds. There is a difference of .4 seconds but for cars of these types, these differences in time can be huge in short distance races. So how can it be that the Sesto Elemento accelerates faster than the Aventador while having a smaller engine, it’s simple, the Sesto Elemento weights 999kg and the Aventador 1,575kg, which is still very light for a sports car[4]. But this is a clear example of how weight affects a car´s performance. In this case the car´s light weight made the car much faster and gave it better reactions. So every time a car has low weight you can almost be sure that the car is very fast, or that it can accelerate at incredible rates. But sometimes if a car is very light weighted but it has bad aerodynamics it can make the car very dangerous. Because aerodynamics makes cars stick to the ground while achieving high speeds, but if a car lacks aerodynamics the car might flip while turning and going fast and that may cause a fatality. But for Lamborghini’s that’s not the case since they worry about everything.
Finally, the three main determinants of speed and acceleration in these amazing cars are aerodynamics, the engine, and the weight. So these components are what make the Lamborghini outstanding in their performance. These are the components which make the car boost from 0-100kph in 2.5 seconds. And to make the cars even better the designers get inspirited from aeronautical designs like planes and rockets, and the creative names are all 100% related to bulls, and each one of the names has a awesome and thought history.
